How we engage

Three ways to work with Calstins.

Start with a fixed-scope discovery, take us through the build, or keep us on as the partner that stays.

01

Discovery & Validation

Business model validation, vendor selection, technical feasibility, MVP scoping. A complete picture before a line of code is written. Fixed scope, fixed price, defined output.

  • Market and regulatory assessment
  • Architecture options and trade-off analysis
  • Vendor landscape and selection shortlist
  • Delivery blueprint and project framework

Fixed-scope engagement

02

Full Advisory + Build

Everything in Discovery, plus embedded advisory throughout the build — architecture decisions, vendor management, team building, and full delivery oversight to launch.

  • Everything in Discovery & Validation
  • Embedded delivery oversight
  • Vendor and engineering team management
  • Quality checkpoints and sign-off

Project-based

03

Ongoing Retainer

Post-launch strategic and technical guidance. Roadmap ownership, IT management, vendor management — the partner that stays after everyone else leaves.

  • Fractional CTO and roadmap ownership
  • Quarterly strategy reviews
  • Vendor performance and renewal management
  • On-call decision support

What we deliver

One integrated partner.

Every engagement draws on all of these disciplines at once. You do not pick a service; you get a partner who brings the right ones to the table.

The Calstins difference

Two types of firms. Neither is enough.

Strategy
Traditional consultant: Strong frameworks, rarely builds anything.
Dev agency: Limited to scoping and estimation.
Calstins: Execution-ready blueprints. We plan what we can deliver.
Ownership
Traditional consultant: Disengages after the planning phase.
Dev agency: Task-based, ticket-driven delivery.
Calstins: End-to-end accountability from day one.
Technical depth
Traditional consultant: High-level, often lacking engineering rigour.
Dev agency: Narrow focus on specific stacks.
Calstins: Senior, multi-disciplinary engineering and advisory leadership.
Longevity
Traditional consultant: Delivers the report. Moves on.
Dev agency: Delivers the code. Moves on.
Calstins: Stays as a retainer partner. The relationship compounds.
Outcome
Traditional consultant: A 200-page report.
Dev agency: A functional codebase.
Calstins: A scalable, operational business system.

How an engagement works

Four phases. One relationship.

From the first question about your business model to the roadmap that follows launch.

  1. 01

    Discover

We begin with your business model, not your brief. Market validation, regulatory mapping, technical feasibility, and competitive landscape — all of this before any architecture is drawn.

    • Business model and viability analysis
    • Regulatory and compliance pathway
    • Technical feasibility and constraint mapping
  2. 02

    Strategise

A clear blueprint before a line of code. Architecture, vendor selections, team structure, and a delivery timeline built around real milestones, not aspirational dates.

    • Architecture and build plan
    • Vendor and partner selection
    • Milestone and delivery framework
  3. 03

    Build

Embedded throughout delivery — guiding the team, managing vendors, making the hard calls. We don't disappear after the kickoff.

    • Engineering oversight and delivery
    • Vendor and third-party management
    • Quality and compliance checkpoints
  4. 04

    Retain

Post-launch, we transition into a strategic retainer — owning the roadmap, monitoring the landscape, and staying ahead of what comes next.

    • Fractional CTO and product ownership
    • Ongoing IT and infrastructure management
    • Quarterly performance and strategy reviews

In their words

What clients say.

  • “What makes a retainer partner valuable isn't just the technical depth. It's the institutional knowledge they carry about your business. A firm that was there from day one thinks differently about your product than one that arrived after launch.”

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Our Start package is planned for 7 to 14 days from the point we have your documents and details. Timelines depend on how quickly the registry processes your application, so we confirm the expected date in your proposal.

Business name registration starts from ₦35,000 and limited company registration from ₦85,000. We confirm the exact amount, and what it covers, in writing before you pay.

Yes. Registration, brand identity and website are designed to work together, so your business name, domain and registered details line up from the start. You can also book each one separately.

A registered business address in Nigeria is required. If you work from home or remotely, we will talk through the options that are compliant for your situation.

Late filings can attract penalties and affect your standing with the registry. Our Start package includes a first-year compliance calendar so you know what is due and when.

Every engagement starts with a question: what does success actually look like?

We don't take on engagements we can't deliver. Before any work begins, we align on outcomes, constraints, and what we'll need from each other.
